*NC - No Channels on this board.

The Blade is a direct descendant of the famous 1984.

In 2014 Rusty Preisendorfer hooked up with Mark “Occy” Occhilupo and did a 100 board reissue of his famous signature “84” model. A year ago Rusty started getting asked to lean out the nose and lose the beak. In addition, he modernized the bottom slightly. The surfers who tried them freaked. Since then Rusty has made them with 4 deep channels and now this version, without. He also decided to give a very modern bottom with a deep single to double concave a shot. Bottom line is that virtually anyone that has tried any of the different bottoms has been psyched and some have also ordered them longer as well.

The Blade works in a wide range of conditions. For now we are offering the Blade in a mellow, subtle single to double concave, and a modern deep single concave. This board, without channels gives you an option when the conditions are less than perfect with a bump face. Its your all terrain Blade.

Construction: E-poly

E-Poly technology combines the best 2 components of the top two construction methods: PU blanks glassed with epoxy resin. PU blanks create the feeling and drive that has been extremely popular in surfboard construction for over 50 years. Its cells are water resistant. They suck water but slowly as the water breaks into each cell until the cell wall breaks and water moves into the next cell. The foam dries relatively fast and fixing a ding is relatively simple. PU is reliable and it is what most of the pros still use.

Epoxy resin is a much nobler resin, used in the sailboat and aerospace industry. It is more expensive and harder to work with, taking much longer to dry and requiring a more sophisticated process to build a board. But, It has way better flex , does not get brittle and keeps the flex for as long as the board lasts. It keeps that same “brand new “ board feeling.

E-poly construction creates boards that are up to 15% lighter than regular PU/Polyester. Boards are also much whiter and stay that way for a longer period of time.

E-poly boards should be fixed with epoxy resin, but polyester resin can be used if necessary as long the surface is well sanded to create a good bond.
