The Rusty Dwart has been a mainstay in the Rusty range for nearly a decade. We can’t really build a “better Dwart”, in fact plenty of people have tried and failed. Yet, with so many satisfied repeat customers we decided it was time to expand the family…Introducing the Dwart Too. The Dwart Too redirects the original mission a little bit, and refines a well-tuned machine into a precision alternative.View Board

The Chupacabra is a high volume groveler with a pure Venturi channel with no spine (the stringer stays up high at the center) to create speed. The board has very low rocker with a very light concave running through the center to flat in between the fins ending onto a very light vee at the end of the tail. It has a very high and pronounced wing that breaks the outline flow creating a quick turning point. The tail is a generous round with planning surface, and yet tight turning arcs in the pocket.View Board

In 2014 Rusty Preisendorfer hooked up with Mark “Occy” Occhilupo and did a 100 board reissue of his famous signature “84” model. A year ago Rusty started getting asked to lean out the nose and lose the beak. In addition, he modernized the bottom slightly. The surfers who tried them freaked. Since then Rusty has made them with 4 deep channels. He also decided to give a very modern bottom with a deep single to double concave a shot. Bottom line is that virtually anyone that has tried any of the different bottoms has been psyched and some have also ordered them longer as well.View Board

The idea behind the Torsion Spring is to create a one piece hull where the left side talks to the right side with dynamic flex without losing kinetic energy from the wave. This core gives you the quiet, smooth, feeling of a polyurethane board but the lightness of an EPS board. Fully waterproof, if you get a small ding, you don’t have to worry about ending your session. The carbon kevlar tape we use along the rail in this I-Beam construction resists buckling and really helps you load up on any turn and helps you harness that energy without losing any of it. We use Biaxial cloth to increase compression resistance without noticeably affecting the flex. Rusty’s Torsion Spring is a technology that you can apply to just about any model we make. New in 2017, the Heckler is a Fish with some new ideas. We’ve utilized a “fishy” outline with a shallow dovetail and pronounced wing to produce a lightning fast small wave wonder. The proven Venturi bottom design that has been so well received on two of our other models, The Rooster and The Hustler, adds a new dimension for fishing and Fish lovers.View Board

We consider the Chew Toy to be the ideal “step-up groveler or hybrid”, as it will handle a much broader range of waves and conditions than most other boards in those categories. Derived from our long time favorite “Piranha”, The Chew Toy features a few modern tweaks to improve the performance and versatility.View Board

If you’re a fan of speed…The Big Block can find speed on the most humble, meek and meager little waves. The Big Block is a high volume surfboard with massive surface area that can generate speed easily and effortlessly through any section. Offered in all our constructions but preferred in our stringerless EPS/Epoxy, the Big Block model includes grab rails for strength and a carbon strip along the center of the bottom. Big Block versatility is increased by utilizing a tri-fin box system that works well with either a traditional thruster fin setup or the T1 Twin fin with trailer.View Board

The Mi Amigo is a high performance board with an old foil revisited. The rocker is relaxed at both ends and the template has a 2.5 inch difference in width between the nose and tail. The bottom features a light single concave that is deepest between the feet, approximately 0.15 inches.View Board

The Slayer has been a favorite for 10+ years. From time to time we’ve been asked if we could make it a little looser off the top and bottom. Thus, the Slayer 2. The Slayer 2 has the wide point pulled back towards the midpoint. This tends to pull in the nose and give more curve to the tail section. It has slightly more rocker on both ends and has a light double barrel vee (Slayer 1 has a single concave).View Board

Model 8 is an update from the 2016 best seller Sista Brotha model. A high performance board with a low rocker thru out the front creating extra speed and drive combined with a single concave, full forgiving rails and some extra tail rocker kick to help find those tight pockets but still allows you to drive on open faces. Rusty designed and built a Twin Fin for Josh Kerr just prior to a trip to Norcal... to say Josh loved it is putting it mildly. Starting with a template Rusty used in the 70's & 80's while working with Shaun Tomson as his base Rusty refined the bottom with the addition of a shallow single concave that feeds into the vee.View Board

The Piranha was one of our most popular designs. It was primarily built for small surf, but it ended up being a very versatile board. We have re-tooled this design with a clean, full, round pin, and are calling it the Smoothie. It has a timeless outline designed to accommodate a wide range of conditions. The bottom starts with a slight roll in the nose transitioning to a light single through the center. This shallow single blends into a sunken double concave in front of the fins and an elevated double concave between the fins that finally ends in a double barrel vee of the tail. If you can’t appreciate the tech talk, just know that the board surfs fast & smooth. NOTE: This price does not include a spray colour. You can add a colour in the check out for +$50View Board

The Enough Said has a moderate tail rocker with a generous nose rocker designed to work from small to medium good quality waves. It features a straight plan shape for increased acceleration and drive. The bottom has a medium single concave throughout the board. This board is fast and loose and a good performer in everyday conditions.View Board

Developed for the bigger days chasing down peaks in open waters and battling currents, it is the perfect wave-hawking weapon. It features added volume, an area-forward outline, lower entry rocker and a light vee in the nose, allowing it to paddle into anything, even in the toughest of surf conditions. With a slight single to double concave bottom running through the fins and rounded pintail, the Blackbird delivers smooth transitions and fast, clean lines.View Board

Introducing the newest edition to the Rusty quiver, this small wave board is ideal for that knee to shoulder high day. Its limits are yet to be determined. Think low volume but high surface area. This board paddles and planes with ease. Combine the double-barrel concave and short board rails and it allows you to whip it around on a dime. We designed it with the five fin setup for even more versatility. Our team riders across the globe have been giving the Happy Shovel two thumbs up… a fun board to surf.View Board

Built for conditions the world over, from point breaks to beach breaks and everything in between. The Kerrosover has a single concave, pulled down rails and we have added volume under the chest for extra paddle power. Good all round board.View Board

The Buckshot is our new hi-fi modern short board model. It is slightly wider in the nose with a fuller squash tail with the pod around 7-8 inches. The entry rocker is relaxed but the tail rocker is increased giving you more speed and drive off the bottom and maximum release with little effort off the top. Due to these combinations you can order this in your standard short board dimension and reap the benefits.View Board

This is the gotta-have board in your travel quiver. The Traveler is a design that is geared towards waves with some solid push but is still a good ride in the medium stuff.View Board

Ok, thank you Kelly for the inspiration. Start with a board designed as a next one up and take 4" off the front end. The wide point is now 2" forward of center instead of 2" back. Add a touch of width to the center. Re-blend everything so the front end has a little fuller nose and relaxed rocker. It paddles well, makes the drop and fits because it's shorter. The back end of the board is meant for better waves. Pulling the wide point forward gives you a rail line that feels a little longer yet offers you more control with less board up front. Lots of R&D last summer. Pros and bros slayin dragons and draining dungeons in Mex, South Pacific, Bali and Indo. Feedback is super positive. Little tool, big job.View Board
